InterLibrary Loan Service

Through the InterLibrary Loan Service you can ask for books that you cannot find in Padova libraries.

Internal users

The service is available to institutional users. Before placing a request, applicants should ensure that the item is not available in the University of Padova libraries by checking the library catalogue.

Charges

For each request applicants are charged €6.50 on the arrival of the item if the book was tracked in Italy, and €13.50 if it comes from abroad.
Requests sent to the British Library Document Supply Service and to non-European countries, and requests for reproduction of rare and precious material are excluded from fixed charges.
The length of the loan and the possibility of making photocopies is determined by the lending library. UCPI does not supply photocopies of articles and parts of books as this service is already provided by each University library.

External Libraries

The central service loans the material possessed by cooperating libraries to Italian and foreign libraries only for reasons of study and research. Requests have to be sent directly to cooperating libraries and the books will be collected and shipped by the Central office. Items must be sent back to the UCPI within the expiry date by certified post.

Charges

The current charge is € 4.80 for loans within Italy and 2 IFLA vouchers for loans outside Italy.
